Fee$ , fee$ and more fee$

I am studying in MMU for almost 3 years.

MMU = Multimedia University

But to some students, MMU has different meanings.

To them, MMU simply means Money Making University, Money Multiplying University, Money Minded University or Multimillion University.

Why students making fun of the uni's name?

Those name started to be heard since the first imposing of Library fees.

For me, RM60 per academic year of the library fees is a bit expensive because i seldom visit there. About 20 times per academic year I visit the library and what I do most is to use the loo~ (LOL~~of course la~this is my own problem, I don't complain that)

Recently, the uni is going to impose another fees named IT Services fees.

WTF is the IT Services fees???

The fee covers the maintenance fees of MMLS, course registration system, wireless services and other online systems. Besides this, a portion of the fee will be used to upgrade the bandwidth of Malacca campus (from 16 Mbps to 34 Mbps) and Cyberjaya campus (from 34 Mbps to 100 Mbps). [update : will increase to 100 Mbps for Malacca campus and 150 Mbps for Cyberjaya campus]

Hey hey~~ not everyone in the campus using the wireless services~~ and furthermore, those online portals are used to reduce workloads of both academic and administrative staff. It's already cost saving for the management. Now, we have to pay for your cost saving strategies?? It's ridiculous!!

Well, what's more to expect from the management?

Here are some ideas for MMU~~

1. Water and toilet services fees - pay for your pee.
2. Electricity usage fees - pay for the electricity usage.
3. Security services fees - pay for the security services. (or pay for people who check your car before you leave the campus)
4. Exam marking services fees - pay for examiners to mark your papers. (or else, no one will mark your papers)
5. Environmental services fees - pay for people who are taking care of the environment of the campus.
6. Air-con services fees - pay for the air-con that you enjoy in the campus.
7. Miscellaneous fees - pay for anything or whatever(not the name of soft drinks ya~)

After the name of IT services fees being introduced, I don't really surprise that one ( or more) these names appear in my bills in the coming trimester...
